COSTA BOAT TRIPS will give you an amazing and certainly a most wonderful day out on the sea to remember on your private snorkelling and sight-seeing trip which meanders along the beautiful coast of Axarquia. The Coast is a spectacular sight to behold from the comfort of the boat and will provide you with some superb photographic opportunities on this magnificent 4 hour boat trip.

On departure from our base at the Puerto de La Caleta Marina we travel eastwards heading for Nerja/Maro along the stunning Axarquia coast passing by the small and beautiful Spanish seaside villages of Algarrobo, Mezquitilla, Lagos and El Morche as we continue on up the coast to Torrox and going around its magnificent lighthouse on our way to Maro marine park.

These small and beautiful villages are located on the seaside of this coast with small idyllic Bays which are ideal for snorkelling or just swimming. The water is pristine clear, very calm, shallow and ideal for snorkelling or for those of you who just want a really lazy day, hanging out and just chillin’ on the boat with ice cold drinks and jumping off the back of the boat in to the beautiful clear cool water when you get too hot!

These are outstanding locations and are great for those not so experienced in snorkelling or swimming and also very safe for children to snorkel and swim. This area is an option if you prefer to spend time here snorkelling rather than up in Maro, you can decide where you’d prefer to be and we’ll head on over there.

Moving on towards Nerja and Maro we continue along the coast arriving next at the magnificent Torrox Lighthouse. Passing by the lighthouse we continue on our stunning trip along the coast to the famous Balcony of Europe at Nerja.

We then pass by the legendary Balcony of Europe at Nerja which was originally home to the watchtowers of a 9th-century defensive fortification, used by the Moors to monitor the coastline and protect against pirates, smugglers and marauders sailing around the southern Spanish coastline. Read the full version here

Leaving Nerja behind us we continue eastbound passing by Nerja’s spectacular Burriana Beach and into the magnificent and pristine waters of Maro Waterfalls located in the Marine Reserve Park. A UNESCO protected area.

Along this most unique part of the southern coast of Spain, you will observe that the landscape dramatically changes at Nerja and the rugged rocks and cliff formations that come into view as we approach Maro will seem like we’ve stepped back in time, into the Jurassic era.

An awesome and unique sight to this area and not to be missed!

Seeing the astonishing scenery and flora that only exists in this part of southern Spain is, without doubt, best appreciated when seen from our boat while viewing the spectacular backdrop of the Sierra mountains which also protect the Costa del Sol from the cold Northern winds.

You will see that the coast of Costa del Sol shows an amazing and wide diversity of landscapes: beaches, cliffs, estuaries, bays and dunes and stunning landscapes. The beauty of this area is amazing. See our gallery here

Dolphins. While heading eastbound on our trip towards the amazing Marine Park we’ll be keeping a keen eye out for the dolphins. Two of the most common species of dolphins in this area being the bottle nose dolphin and the striped dolphin. They can be seen all along this part of the Axarqúia coast sometimes as we pass through the Torrox lighthouse area moving towards the famous Balcony of Europe at Nerja before reaching the wonderful Maro Cerro Marine Park Reserve.
An exhilarating and truly amazing day out.
